Mini quads are fun all year round
Mini quad racing is a craze that has become popular the world over and is especially suitable for the UK where the poor weather can ground larger multicopters over much of the winter, whilst a mini is great for indoor venues such as multi-story car parks. Meanwhile summer makes for thrilling races through woodland which evoke scenes from the Return of the Jedi speeder bike race.
There are a number of venues and events that take place dedicated to mini drone racing, check out popular groups on Facebook to find out more. For example:
The smaller frame size of mini drones has helped their popularity as they are agile and can fly through small spaces and go around trees.
FPV (First Person View) technology adds to the buzz, with a screen or goggles you are placed into the action with a view direct from from the quadcopter. Fatshark goggles are especially popular with FPV racers and you can check out our range here.
Quadcopters.co.uk stocks 250, 280 and 300 mini drones, the name relates to the distance in mm from motor to motor, so for example a 250 quadcopter has a distances of 250mm from motor to motor. The ready to fly Nighthawk Pro 280 is especially popular as it has a clean, lightweight and integrated design.
Mini drones are so much fun to fly that we even sponsored and competed in the the first ever UK National drone racing championships, the event was presented by Sonia Yasmin Ali and was a huge success.
